FREE 7 Day Trial Pass FAQ
"I've never trained Martial Arts before, which class should I attend?"
Every champion was once a beginner. At Triunfo, we pride ourselves on providing an elite experience for as much the beginner as the seasoned practitioner. Having said that, we offer a Fundamentals class for both Jiu Jitsu (grappling) and Muay Thai (striking) to support newer athletes with a class that is slower paced and focuses largely on developing sound fundamentals that will serve you in the years to come.

“I can’t make any of the Fundamentals classes with my schedule, now what?”
Beyond our Fundamentals classes you’ll find All Levels classes. These truly are available to anyone of any experience level. They are designed to provide many modifications for each skill level and to provide every student with necessary support to improve. The biggest difference between the Fundamentals and All Levels classes is the pace at which the class moves and the ‘Live Rolling’ (controlled sparring) at the end of the All Levels Class.
“Am I required to do the ‘Live Rolling’ or sparring?”
You will never be forced to do something outside of comfort zone, but in martial arts you will asked to push the boundaries of your comfort zone. Live rolling and sparring are awesome opportunities for you to improve as an athlete or practitioner. If all you simply do is learn and repeat (drill) techniques with a willing partner then you’re missing out on developing your game and making adjustments necessary for your strengths and weaknesses. Our team is one of support and respect and that translate into our rolling and sparring sessions. Many students immediately notice how much everyone is there to help one another improve.
“I don’t have any equipment. What do I need?”
If you’ve never trained before we don’t anticipate that you have a Gi or maybe shinguards lying around in wait, therefore, during your Free 7 Day Trial Pass we gladly provide clean loaner equipment for your use. Should you choose to join us on your martial arts journey, we can support you further in acquiring your own gear. We recommend bringing a water bottle and, if you’re new to training, a light snack should you feel a bit dizzy your first few classes.
“What should I wear to my first class?”
We suggest bringing or arriving in a pair of flip-flops since shoes are required off the mat and not allowed on the mat. Flip-flops tend to be the easiest and cleanest ways to add and remove your shoes should you need a water or bathroom break during your training. If you’re training any of our Jiu Jitsu classes you would be most comfortable in either board shorts or training spats/tights (no zippers or pockets) and either a t-shirt or rash-guard. If you’re joining us for a Muay Thai class you’d be comfortable in similar attire or even a tank top. You’ll want longer hair pulled back, nails trimmed, and a clean shirt for post training.
“Can I train twice in one day?”
This is personal preference and largely dependent on your current conditioning. Many students at Triunfo train 2, sometimes 3, times a day but they didn’t start there. They worked their way up to a level of conditioning that allows their body and mind to safely and effectively train. If you are an active athlete you’re welcome to train as frequently as you’d like. If you’re new to working out, or it has been some time since you last did, we’d recommend you acclimate your body to the new activity.
“Are the classes co-ed?”
Aside from our Saturday morning Women’s BJJ Fundamental Class, all of our classes offered will be co-ed classes. We encourage everyone of any size and gender to learn martial arts and practice self-defense. Respect and care is always insisted upon and Triunfo has always had a great experience with our co-ed classes.
“Are there any rules or etiquette I should know about?”
During your first visit to the academy a staff member will review our rules and etiquette with you so that you’re clear on the experience you will receive and how you can positively contribute to the success of someone else’s. Like many sports, Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai communities have their own etiquette that one learns simply through the involvement with the sports. At Triunfo we simply ask for consideration, respect, and kindness and if those three things are honored then the rest fall into place.
“What is your pricing and what are your membership options?”
Upon the completion of the first class of your Free 7 Day Trial Pass you will receive an email including our Membership Priciing Menu which outlines all membership and savings options. This allows you move through the rest of your trial period considering which option may work best for you. Questions or concerns about pricing or membership options are always welcome and are best directed to Chelsie at 949.614.3833 (no SMS text available) or info@triunfomma.com
